Democratising Classics is an academic blog that explores how Classics and the concept of democracy have coincided and collided in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. It aims to (democratically) foster discussion ahead of the panel of the same name at the Celtic Conference in Classics in St Andrews (11-14 July 2018).

The site is run by panel organisers Jenny Messenger, a third-year PhD student at the University of St Andrews, and Rossana Zetti, a third-year PhD student at the University of Edinburgh.

Feel free to comment on the posts, get lost in the debates, or write something yourself! If you would like to pitch an idea for a blog post, let us know. You can get in touch with us via the contact form or by email (democratisingclassics@gmail.com).
